Monster Reminder window

I have several different .pst files displayed in Outlook 2007, which is on
my freestanding home computer, not on a network. Two days ago I, apparently
in error, used drag and drop to transfer a large number of messages from one
of those files to another. To my surprise, apparently as a consequence of
that, a calendar Reminder window appeared, showing not events scheduled in
the calendar, but messages. I clicked on the 'Dismiss' button, and on the
'Dismiss all' button, but to no avail. Since then, this Reminder window has
reappared frequently and it has been growing. Yesterday it had about 400
messages in it; now it has around 3,500. I'm not sure what's wrong, nor
what to do about it. Can anyone help with this? Thanks.

Thanks very much. Doing that helped to fix the reminders so that the
buttons were active. However, clicking the 'dismiss all' button only had a
momentary effect, because after a few minutes the reminders reappeared. I
had thought the reminders were an error generated by my unorthodox method
(drag and drop, used twice) of transferring messages from one .pst folder to
another. I upgraded to Outlook 2007 a few days ago, and I don't remember
this reminders feature being active for flagged emails in my previous
installation of Outlook 2003. Speaking with someone today made clear that
the reminders are intended by the program. Your help is much appreciated.

The Reminder window continues to appear, after running the /cleanreminders
switch. All the messages which appear in the Reminders window are messages
created in my previous installation of Outlook, and carried over from it into
Outlook 2007. None of the messages dated after installation of Outlook 2007
are shown in the Reminders window. Is this due to some deficiency in the
upgrade process? What can I do to get rid of these Reminders? Outlook 2007
is of very limited use to me if this can't be fixed, because I won't be able
to display any of the older PST data files without causing Outlook 2007 to
create a humungous and oppressive Reminders window.
