XP displays in monochrome permanently, except for the startup/login screen
and all icons. Once I have logged in, the screen is in colour until all items
have finished loading, then it becomes monochrome and stays that way. I have
stopped all startup programs from loading but it makes no difference. Any
ideas anyone???

Hi
Thanks for your response.
This was my first thought., so I reloaded the video driver and checked to
see it was the latest version. Still no change.
I then swapped out the video card from my other PC. Still no change.

After once again checking through my startup files, I realised that the
Adobe Gamma Calibration was loading in the background. This is installed
along with Photoshop or Illustrator and sets itself to load on startup. The
settings had obviously changed or had become corrupt, conflicting with my
monitor/video card setup. After uninstalling it the problem has gone.

XP is once again as colourful as ever. Problem resolved.

Thank you.
