Hi,

Does anyone know of any user monitoring software for XP that is not
recgonised as a virus etc? I need to be able to log time spent on web pages,
msn etc.

Everyone I have found is picked up by avg or something similar.

Thanks

Just because your AV app recognizes such software as a keylogger (which it
probably is) during a scan doesn't mean the AV app has to do anything about
it.

Yep, I know.

However, having antivirus, antispyware make it show up, the user can remove
it or notice they are being logged. Defeats the whole purpose.

You won't be able to monitor "log time" spent on web pages. You request
a web page, you get its content, you disconnect, and the entire "log
time" was the few milliseconds for the packet transfer. Very few web
sites utilize a persistent connection and those that do use it for
specific needs.

If you simply want to see to where your users are going, look at the
software firewall log that is running on their host. Or look at the
router that is upstream of their account and enable logging in it to see
to where they are going. For my home config, I use a NAT router that
includes logging but find its log entries too cryptic (I prefer IP names
rather than IP addresses) so I use WallWatcher to gather my router's
log. How you monitor to where your users are going depends on what you
have for your host and network config.
