Monitor settings resets to 8 bits after reebot

Hello!

Can anyone help me, or really my father. He's got Win XP SP2 running on a
DELL computer. The thing is that the monitor settings resets to 8 bits almost
every time at startup, even if he resets it to 32 bits every time at when
loggin on to the computer.

I have adviced him to try to un-install the monitor device drivers, and he
have done so, but the problem remains.

He is using an old monitor from his old computer, can this be the cause of
this behaviour?

Any other ideas?

Hi,
This is a graphics device driver issue. Download new drivers for the
graphics card and install them. As long as there are no viruses or the card
is not damaged this should work.
