Monitor/Screen Too Dark

Previously, on Windows 98, I was allowed to change the gamma, contrast, and
brightness levels at my will. And, considering how dark my monitor is, this
was very useful. I now have Windows XP, but cannot figure out how to change
the gamma, contrast, or brightness. I need a step by step walkthrough of how
to change these, if possible. Thank you for your help!

Monitors aren't very expensive these days. Did you install the video
card's drivers/software when you upgraded to XP? Usually, the software
with the video card has those adjustments.

Start by installing video card drivers for your adapter that support
that feature. The vid card manufacturers web site should have current XP
compatible versions. Then after properly installing those drivers you
will find added controls on the settings advanced section.

It's done with the settings on your monitor.
