Monitor Safety?

Ralph

Hi,

I need to have my computer NOT go into screensaver or
hibernation mode. Is it damaging or dangerous to the
laptop screen or to a monitor for it to never go into
screensaver mode?

thanks

lcd's don't get images burned in. the crt if given enough
time will eventually burn in to the phos coat.

You dont need a screen saver to save your screen anymore.

A screensaver is not going to help much anyway. A Power off of the
monitor helps conserve the tube filaments (CRT) or backlight (LCD as in
a laptop). If the power off in the system is not acceptable, I would
turn off the monitor with its own power switch before leaving it say
over night
