Monitor Resolution problem

Guest

My monitor for my laptop has shrunk.
It is about half the size it should be.
there is a large black border around the entire screen
I have tried adjusting the resolution to make it fit the screen
and I have tried checking off "enlarge to fit screen" in the settings
Troubleshooting offered me no help.
I do not know where to go from here.

Your laptop instruction doesn't cover this? It should. If you can't find the
manual, go to the manufacturers web site and download a new one.

NO, my instructions do not cover this.
I did not change anything to make it shrink
It loads normal and then when my icons appear it seems to "refresh"
and shrink
I have changed my resolution size to the maximum amount and now it fits my
screen,
but all of the windows, I.E. and fonts are miniscule compared.
It still "refreshes" when I start the computer.
I have also tried a system restore which did not work.

A LED (flat panel monitor) has a native resolution that the monitor must be
run at to get the design performance. If you decide to run at a different
resolution, all bets are off.

Look up YOUR design resolution for YOUR laptop, and then set and run at that
resolution. Is it any better?
