Monitor question

Good evening,
Will a 15.4 " WXGA (1280x800) be supported
with an OS like Win98SE or ME.
Is there a driver to install ?
Serached all over the place for it and can't find it.
The machine is a notebookCompaq Presario X1000.

Normally windows supports most monitors with default
drivers.However,more importantly your video card must be supported as
the two are tied.
