Monitor power savings

After a while the screen on my XPe platform goes black. That is not quite what I was looking for. I have a minlogon application, and added some features like thes desktop control panel.

There doesn't seem to be a screensaver. I have disabled all the power safe things in the Bios. But I see a button under the screensaver tab in the desktop controlpanel, named Monitor Power. I suspect that I want to look under this button, but it doesn't do anything

To go one step further, how can I turn off all power safe features in the tagert designer? Is there some magic registry key to be set

Kees,

Double check in the component "Standard PC", or "Advanced Configuration and
Power Interface (ACPI) PC" component that the Power Management Settings is
set to Presentation. This is the default setting so if you haven't changed
it this may not be the problem.

Dear Brad

That was usefull advice, although it diodn't solve my problem. Indeed the Power Management Setting was set to Presentation. I even changed it to Always On. But still the screen goes black after about 20 seconds. I am pretty sure it isn't some BIOS setting, because when running with my other harddisc with XP Professional it doesn't show this behaviour. I haven't installed a screensaver either. Is there something else that switches the monitor off

Kees,

Are we working with a Minlogon, or Winlogon image? If it's Minlogon I've
seen posts here about having problems with the monitor power. Under I think
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\sessionmanager\power is a setting for
ACPolicy. If I remember (KM may be able to verify since I think he posted it
before and I can't find it) change 00CO to all zeros (for never).

I don't think I quite understand what you mean. I have found that key in the registry. But the ACPolicy tab has a long binary list as a value, some 225 bytes long. I did put a number of zero's at the 00C0 position, but again, it doesn't help. Didn't i understand you correctly

BTW, I use a minlogon configuration

With kind regards, Kee

Kees,

Not searching my "answers database" ( :) ) I'd suggest you to do a little
trick first - set the power management options to desired on your XP Pro box
and grab the key Brad mentioned ([HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentSet001\Control\Session
Manager\Power], "AcPolicy" and "DcPolicy" binary values) and integrate it in
to your image (through TD Entra Registry Data, e.g.). See if it helps.

Also, if you use Minlogon, check if "NT APM" component is in your image
configuration.

Thanks a lot Brad and KM. The application is now running for several hours without the screening turning off. I'm sure I wouldn't have found the solution without your help. Embedded is still a bit of a labyrinth to me
