Monitor out of range after using remote desktop

Greetings,
My work PC recently was upgraded to an Acer LCD/Flat Panel monitor. It
found this as a typical Plug-n-Play monitor, but I also tried the direct Acer
monitor drivers but to no avail.

I will leave my PC to accept remote desktop connections, then use the PC
remotely from home. I've been doing this for a long time without any issues
until I upgraded the CRT with the LCD. Now,w hen I return to work in the
morning. the ctrl-alt-del login box is visible, but upon entering my
password, the monitor goes blank with "Out of Range"- suggesting the desktop
is now at some funky frequency. I'm forced to either blindly try to find
Shutdown/Restart through keystrokes or hit the power button (resulting in a
shutdown), to restart the PC and get back to my desktop.

The monitor is native 1280x1024 and accepts 60-75hz refresh rates, and the
Remote Desktop Session as well as my home PC are also all 1280x1024 so it's
not a changing resolution. It's just doing something strange with the
frequency after using RDC.

Does anyone know a setting or work-around to fix this problem? I think it's
bizarre that 1280x1024 -> 1280x1024 -> 1280x1024 could cause a frequency
change unless it's specified or coming from somewhere.

Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am still unable to find any information or insights on this problem.
:(

I have also discovered there are a few others on our work domain that are
experiencing this issue. The common factor is- LCD monitors (which have
limited frequency ranges).

Are there any hotfixes or known issues with Remote Desktop that force the
client PC to change it's frequency? In all cases here, the
resolution/frequency does not change for the connecting client, and even if
we "Log Off" when completing our Remote Desktop session, upon re-logging in
locally, the monitor goes Out of Range.

The only way we can restore the PC to operation is to hit the power button
(which initiates a proper Shut Down in Windows) after providing our user
name/password. Upon powering back up and re-stating the same
username/password, our desktop is back to saved/proper settings.
