monitor haywire

I downloaded some updates to windows and other drivers
from MSN and now my monitor is not properly recognized by
my computer and when I try to go into monitor properties
and settings my entire system shuts down and reboots.
Please help everything on my monitor is huge....
 
I suggest booting into safe mode and removing the video
adapter from the device manager.


Press F8 Right after the HP or Compaq or BIOS screen goes
away. Choose safemode when given choices.
Go to
control panel > System > device manager >

Select and delete the video adaptor. when you reboot the
video settings will install the right driver at the
standard resolution.

Using winupdate drivers is not a good idea, use manu. drivers from their
site only
