Monitor Flickering

I have a laptop with Windows XP, the monitor has started
flickering the past few days. Any thoughts?? Thank you.
 
Check your refresh rate. Contact your manufacturer for details.
 
Right click on a blank area of the screen. Choose
Properties/Settings/Advanced and see if the refresh rate has somehow been
reduced.
