Hi,

When I switch on my LCD monitor the screen appears for less than a second
then goes blank. I can see a dimmed image of whichever program is running
and I can just about see the mouse move across the screen. This problem
just suddenly appeared and I cannot explain it. Luckily I have two monitors
running so that the good one can close down the computer. Even though they
are very faint to view adjusting the screen setting has no effect.

Anything can be done to salvage this monitor.

Pat

P.S. unfortunately it is outside the warranty.

Most likely the back plane lamps, and back plane ballast supply require
changing. Bring your monitor to a computer monitor service centre to have
this properly done.

Agreed, probably the lamp supply board- the lamps are
probably fine unless it did something bad when it failed.
