When I go to properties and set my desktop background on the ripple effect,
it won't stay. I want my desktop to stay on the blue ripple but it just goes
back to black. When I go to the desktop theme, it says modified theme. It
keeps going back to the modified theme instead of staying where I put it.
Why? I don't like the black screen. How can I get it to stay where I set it?

After you selected the Ripple effect, did you click OK? That's not
correct, you must select Apply first then OK to set and SAVE settings.

When you go back to the desktop theme after changing any certain thing in
the appearance or whatnot it will say custom theme. That should not have
anything to do with the reason why it wont stay at the ripple effect. I
totally understand you dont like the dull black screen. have you tried any
other desktop effect besides that one just to see if maybe the ripple effect
has something wrong with it?

Yes, I did click on apply first and then ok to save the settings. I have
tried everything I know of.

No, I have not tried any other effect. I will try another one. I didn't
think to do that.

I tried another effect and it went back to the black screen again. Any other
ideas?
