I’m using Windows XP with Office 2003. I have been formatting several large
documents which are interconnected via hyperlinks. If I want to relocated
the files onto other computers, I will need to modify the hyperlinks. There
are hundreds of hyperlinks involved. Is there an automated way to change the
hyperlink path inside of documents?

I forgot, in some word processing apps you can rename all of them
at one time but then they may not work.....try it.

You might be able to do some of the changes with the Find and Replace
function. You should ask on one of the Office newsgroups where the
experts hang out, you might get better advice there.

Depending on how many documents there are:

1. Open the document
2. Click on Tools | Options
3. Click on Field Codes (make sure it's checked)
4. Click OK

Now you should be able to Find/Replace all hyperlinks depending on the
uniqueness.

To bad you don;t have a common computer that acts like a server. That way
you could set the the hyperlink to a file on the server, and not have to
worry about this is the future.

In the future, try to use Relative pathnames versus Absolute.
