Modify User Accounts

For some reason, I can no longer modify the user accounts on my son's
computer. He currently has administrators privilege. I want to change his
account to a normal user account. When trying to change his account, it
displays Administrator (with a checkbox checked) and the other account is
grayed out. I don't have the option to make another selection.

Are there other Administrator accounts on the comptuer? There must be one at
all times, thus if your son is the only Administor, he cannot be changed to
normal user and thus the option to choose limited will not exist. This occurs
even if an Administrator account for logging into safe mode exists (as it
does in win xp home ed.)

Hi JCO,

You have to have at least 1 admin account. If your son's account is the only
one on his computer, you'll have to create another account as an admin, then
you should be able to change his account status.

Happy computing,
Dannie

This is true, however, I logged on using the Administrator Account and I
still could not change his account to be Limited. Same thing, it was grayed
out.

As I replied to Dave (above)...

I logged on using my Administrator Account and I still could not change his
current Administrator Account to a Limited Account. Same thing, it was
grayed out.
