Anthony:
I'm going to give you directions for Word 2000. AFAIK this feature was the
same in 2003, but I understand it is no longer possible in 2007?
Tools > Customize > Commands
Before you do anything else, check the Save In list, and make sure you're
about to save your customizations where you intended to. I save all mine in a
global tools add-in (for department-wide use) or a personal tools add-in
(stuff just for me).
On the Toolbars tab, scroll to and check Shortcut menus to display those
menus on a toolbar. There are LOTS of shortcut menus. Sometimes you'll have
to determine which menu you want to modify by trial and error. Sometimes
you'll have to make similar modifications to two or three or more related
menus -- because the shortcuts depend on the object you've selected when you
right-click.
You edit these menus as you would any other toolbar menus.
Also, be aware that some third-party add-ins will play havock with your
customizations. I've had to disable the Merriam Webster addin for shortcuts,
but have left the one for toolbars in place.
