Modification Not Allowed message in Word 2007

I have just downloaded the 60 day trial version and have activated but it is
still showing modification not allowed message and will not give me the
option to start a new document. I have a newsletter to complete today and am
tearing my hair out !!

please help !!
 
You might think you activated the trial software, but it sounds like
whatever you did was not successful. See
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA101936151033.aspx "Activation
and conversion information for 2007 Microsoft Office system Trials".

Or maybe you already had a previous trial version installed, and you are
now trying to install another trial version after the first one expired.
You cannot continue to use trial versions indefinitely.
