modem volume

I cannot turn the volume off on my modem. I went to the
properties section under modem and turned it to off, but
it still makes that horrible sound. Anyone know of
something else I can do?

Been awhile but adding M0 to the modem initialization string might quiet
it down. Otherwise try reading the manual for your modem to see what the
appropriate command is.
