Modem turns on computer

I recently put a new dial-up modem on my computer and plugged it in and it
works fine but if my computer is turned off or on hibernate whenever someone
calls my house my computer turns on and its something with the modem. Does
anybody know how to fix this or if it can be fixed?

Check the BIOS for a Wake on LAN/Ring setting and disable it.
