modem speed

I have a problem with modem speed connection:
with xpe the modem connect at 300 bps,
with the same hardware and win2000 modem connect at 33kbps
the modem is on usb port and the keyboard on ps2, can you
help me

- does the keyboard work on its own? and
- are the USB keyboard support and the second USB port properly enabled in the BIOS?

the answer at the two question is Yes
but for the moment i am intersting to use ps2 and modem usb
in this configuration the modem dial but the conection not
work, error 674 in some casa in other case connect success
but the speed is 300 bps, with same hardware windows 2000
connect to 33.6 kbps the modem usb is attached on com3

A simple google search seems to have found your problem.

The first few links mention wrong/incorrectly installed
drivers, and then there's one with a list of modem error
codes.
674 Cannot read the maximum connection BPS rate from the
media .INI file.
Which also suggests there's a problem with your driver.
