Modem speed

How do you get Windows XP to display the modem transfer
speed, like Win98 did in the taskbar? I don't see the
speed displayed anywhere.

In "Network Connections", right click the connection, select Properties, and
check the box "Show in notification area when connected"

Thanks...works like a charm. Any idea why I can't get
v.90 speeds? Think I have lousy phone lines...
