modem problems

After shutting down system & re-booting my computer does
not see the modem & I have to re-install the modem driver
in com1 to access the modem.
What causes this problem?

Hello

Well maybe it's your modem you may want to consider
repalcing it or more to another slot in your pc and see if the
same thing happens. Another option would be to look on the
internet for the most recent driver for it.
