Modem on all nite

I accidentally left my dial up modem on all night long.

Is their any mechanism in windows to shut off a modem after all
activity stops?

check the settings of the dialup, there might be an option to disconnect
after a certain amount of time.

i had the same problem ..but my modem was in off-hook condition...i had to
replace w/new modem hardware and its working fine now..
