Modem does not disconnect when connection is inactive

Malan

Hi

Windows 2000 Prof. I'm trying my utmost to get ISDN modem
to disconnect when connection is inactive/idle. The
following advanced dial-up settings...:
1. Disconnect if idle for X minutes
2. Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed.
....doesn't seem to give me joy.

Advice anybody?

Alternative: Know a share/freeware app that can help me
out?

Hi Malan,

I looked at my 2000 Pro machine and do not see the options you are speaking of. Are they in
Internet Explorer versus the actual dial-up connection icon? I would suggest going to the
properties of the dial-up icon and set the settings in there under Options to disconnect when
idle.

Hope this helps,
Gary
