Modem dails out every 2 minutes

Hi,
I have a Xp w/ all the updates. When i reboot or disconnect form the
internet, it redials the isp again. The Auto connect is disabled, I have run
virus scans, hijack this, Turned off the don’t dial a connection, Check the
registry , for the run, runonce, Ran a complete virus scan And haven’t found
anything.
Any help would be Great !!

Melvin,

A virus scan looks for virally infected files on the computer. Look for unknown
processes. HijackThis, and expert advice, would be a good idea.

Also, if you can hear the modem activate, run Process Explorer, and see what
process is active when that happens.
