Mobo PS fault problem

I'm seeing a very confusing picture in which ram which tested good over
here is testing bad over there or rather vice versa.

The 1G ram stick which previously tested bad in the configuration: slot1
..5G ram, slot2 1G ram, now tests normal with the full spectrum of
memtest86+ in the configuration slot1 unpopulated, slot2 1G ram.

That test took over an hour, when I clicked escape to exit the test, the
power fault problem occurred.

Earlier I ran the machine for some hours with 1G of ram, the new
ramstick, using the scroll maneuver to try to trigger the powerfault,
but I could not trigger the powerfault.

I tried to run memtests in the configuration of slot1 .5G good ram and
slot2 1G newram, but it would run only about 2 - 10 minutes at a time of
ramtesting before it would powerfault. I did that about half a dozen
times. At no time during those 2-10 min ramtests did any ram errors
show up.
