MOA & BCM Integration: Products and Services details are now reado

S

steve99-

Syncing MOA products and service through to BCM is a great feature... but...

When you add a MOA product or service to an opportunity in BCM it does not
allow editing of DESCRIPTION, UNIT COST or UNIT PRICE... (unlike BCM products
and services which you can)

why are these fields turned to read only in BCM, especially as when you
convert that opportunity to a quote they become editable..

This is the only thing left thats stopping me using BCM and MOA combined as
I can't put the correct pricing into BCM.

Any help will be much appreciated

Kind Regards

Steve

I suspect they are read only in BCM because MOA doesn't allow BCM
users to change any money fields, just contact information. Can you
edit the price fields once you've opened an MOA Sales Order form from
BCM?

Thanks for both your replies Luther,

Yes you can edit line items once you've opened an MOA Sales Order form from
BCM.. in fact you can edit line items anywhere in MOA even when launched from
BCM. But its the BCM opportunity line items that are locked...this lock down
of line items if they have come from MOA doesn't make sense as once I've
chosen that line item I am not editing anything to do with MOA as its a BCM
opportunity.

It really makes no sense because 'real world' situations require items,
especially services, to be flexible on pricing... and I don't mean discount.

It would be so bad if the BCM line items converted to MOA quote line items
but they just get squashed into the description field and it would also mean
maintaining 2 lists of products and services which defeats the object of
syncing.

I think the idea of BCM to handle opportunities and then sync with MOA is
great but opportunities are variable and like any lead or prospect changing
prices on line items within an opportunity is a regular need.

Help appreciated guys, any other thoughts??
