MMC 8.7 recording problem (sound)

Hi all,
I have an AIW Radeon card (and SoundBlaster Live if it matters) and have
been having a problem with recording.

If I record something using the "DVD" or "Good" presets, there is a
static/crackling noise in the recorded file.
However, if I record something using the "Longer" or "Video CD" presets, the
noise is not in the recorded file.

I remember having a problem like this a few years ago and fixing it by using
the PCI Latency patch. Well, I've applied the patch again and it doesn't
seem to be having any effect...

Any advice would be appreciated!
