MM freezes periodically

Even if I'm not working on anything, movie maker keeps
freezing. I found out that even if I open up the
program, leave it alone for a while, and come back to it,
it's locked up and I can't do anything but shut it down
through my task manager. However, the task manager
always says that the program is still running..

There is an autosave feature, which you can turn off, it may be this?

Try adjusting the memory settings to make sure it's not using up too much!

Have you tried limiting the amout of memory allowed to the program?
