MM AntiSpyware causes PC to freeze

MS AntiSpyware causes my PC to freeze, i.e., desktop shortcuts become
inoperative and cursor fails to respond. The only way I can seem to fix this
is to reboot and remove MS AntiSpyware from startup using msconfig but, as a
result, MS AntiSpyware isn't running in the background and I don't get real
time protection. Can anybody offer a suggestion?

Hello GLONMO;
Not much to go on there, but I'd suspect some malware on your system. I'd
recommend running both an Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware full deep scans, updated
to the latest definitions, from Safe Boot mode, in order to eliminate some of
the running processes, and see if you can at least identify and/or remove any
problem. Let us know what you find, if anything:
