ML-4500 printing images

hello...

i have a Samsung ML-4500 printing from a Windows 98SE computer (all
updates done from windowsupdate.microsoft.com). i downloaded and
installed the latest drivers from http://www.samsung.com/. the printer
prints windows test pages perfectly and prints any text it is sent,
but it will not print documents with any graphical images on them. the
driver has the option to print raster and vector, i have tried both,
but neither work. does anyone know how to fix this?

i have removed the printer uninstalled the drivers, rebooted,
reinstalled the drivers. i have also re-tried my deskjet printer and
this still prints fine... am i missing anything?

gets a little stranger - yesterday i discovered it will print some
images - i managed to get it to print a picture of an icon (about 1k
in size)...
