I have lost sound on my laptop. Two issues:

1) In device manager my Soundmax Integrated Digital Audio has a question
mark. I can't find a driver on my XP cd?

2) When I click volume control in entertainment a window comes up: There are
no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to control
panel, click printers and other hardware, and click add hardware. Where do I
find a mixer to install?

Answers:

1) The drivers are not normally found with XP. Check with the laptop's
manufacturer (web site or support line) on how to fix this.

2) To get a mixer to install, you first need to have the correct sound
drivers to be working. Once you get #1 to work, you should have the mixer
installed.

You'll need to locate the correct drivers for your sound card. If this is a
Dell or some other national brand, you should be able to get these off of
their website. If not, you should be able to get the drivers directly from
the card manufacturers website.
