Mixed up drive letters

This is a tough one but bear with me....

I can´t RE-install TweakUI because it is giving the following error
message:
"Error 1327. Invalid Drive: H:\"

This problem occured after I added two new HDDs and changed the drive
letters.

Previous situation:
C:\ boot drive
D:\ ´My Documents´ folder and content
2 CD-ROMS (can´t remember what drive letters)

Intermediate situation (after installing new HDDs)
C:\ boot drive
D:\ NEW HDD1 (empty) sata 80
E:\ NEW HDD2 (empty) ide 200
F:\ CD-ROM
G:\ CD-ROM
H:\ ´My Documents´ folder and content

I then moved the My Documents folder from H:\ to D:\ (drag and drop)
and then made a change with TweakUI to point D:\ as the ´new´ location
of the ´My Documents´ folder.

I then reassigned the letters to something that made more sense:
C:\ boot drive
D:\ NEW HDD1 (with ´My Documents´ contents)
F:\ NEW HDD2 (empty)
X:\ CD-ROM
Y:\ CD-ROM
E:\ Old ´My Documents´ folder and content (removed)

After all this, I lost the ´My Music´ and ´My Images´ shortcut in the
Start menu. I tried using TweakUI but they wouldn´t even list. I tried
unsinstalling TweakUI and got the "Error 1327. Invalid Drive: H:\".

I then switched the letters back just to unistall TweakUI.
C:\ boot drive
D:\ NEW HDD1 (with ´My Documents´ contents)
F:\ NEW HDD2 (empty)
X:\ CD-ROM
Y:\ CD-ROM
H:\ Old ´My Documents´ folder and content (removed)
Uninstallation of TweakUI was completed succesfully.

Changed back...
C:\ boot drive
D:\ NEW HDD1 (with ´My Documents´ contents)
F:\ NEW HDD2 (empty)
X:\ CD-ROM
Y:\ CD-ROM
E:\ Old ´My Documents´ folder and content (removed)

And now I can´t RE-install TweakUI because it gives the "Error 1327.
Invalid Drive: H:\". So I´m stuck with two problems:

1) Installation problems (happened with TweakUI and happened with some
driver updates from ATI Radeon)
2) ´My Music´ and ´My Images´ folder links are not in Start menu

The situation now doesn´t make much sense because THERE IS NO DRIVE
H:\. But WinXP still thinks there is and is pointing stuff to it.

I can live with problem 2) but 1) is a timebomb just waiting to
detonate all my applications....

Please help and sorry if this is confusing. I did my best to sort out
all my steps and present them in a logical and meaningful manner.

Create a restore point or export your registry for safety, then Run regedit
Edit/Find and change all instances of H:\ to D:\. Since H:\ does not exist,
I can't see any danger in doing this, and it should stop programs from
referring to H:\.

My query (irrelevant parts snipped)...
I have not found a way to clone partitions using the Acronis True Image
program. It seems I can clone only on a disk-to-disk basis. For example, if
I wanted to cloned the contents of a drive to a specific partition on a
multi-partitioned destination drive (internal or external), it seems that
the program does not have this capability (which I have with the Ghost
program). I've queried the developer about this, but so far haven't had a
response.

Earl responds...
Perhaps this screen shot will help. It shows the selection of an entire disk
or just a partition to image. The drive F: partition on disk 2 has been
selected for backup.

Thanks for your response Earl. Yes, it is true that Acronis True Image can
clone to a designated partition on the destination drive, but it's a rather
tortuous (and lengthy!) process that I find quite awkward to use in
comparison to Ghost's simple (and comparatively fast) one. Using Ghost with
its bootable floppy or CD (as I normally do), one simply chooses the source
disk (or partition on that disk) and the destination disk (or specific
partition on that destination disk) and with a simple one-click of the mouse
Ghost clones the contents of the source disk (or specific partition on that
disk) to the selected partition on the destination disk. No need to create
an image file and later restore it as is apparently the case with ATI
resulting in a relatively lengthy process based upon my experience the few
times I've done it.

Anyway, I still enjoy the much faster cloning speed of ATI (in comparison to
Ghost) insofar as disk-to-disk cloning is involved, both with respect to
cloning to an internal drive as well as a USB/Firewire external hard drive.
It's a real plus of the program.

Again, thanks for the info.
