Mixed and Native Mode

If I have a 2000 DC and a 2003 DC in a child domain,
within a single forest, can I go to native mode, in that
domain?
 
If you mean that you have both a 2000 DC and a 2003 DC within the same child
domain then you cannot change to 2003 Native mode.

If you have only a 2003 DC in the child domain then yes you can make the
change. Wasn't quite sure which way round you meant.
