Mix 'n Match Wireless Desktop

I'd like to buy one of the Microsoft wireless desktop sets (keyboard +
mouse), but I don't care for the mouse it comes with. I already own a
Microsoft wireless mouse that I do like.

Will the wireless mouse I currently own work with the receiver from the
wireless desktop set? If so, I'll just ditch the mouse that comes with the
desktop set (and the receiver from my current mouse). What with discounts
and all, I don't mind buying a desktop set and not using the mouse that
comes with it.

Wireles desktop kits "may" not accept another wireless mouse. Each seem to
have different codes/signal that need to match. Unless Microsoft can
garranty this at 100%, the No, you can not mix and match. Yo will need the
old receiver if you want to continue to use your old mouse.

However, all is not lost! If you get a bluetooh wireless desktop, then you
should be able to mix and match. Bluetooth is a standard wireless signal
that should allow you the mix up the devices.

Which Wireless Desktop do you have?
And which mouse do you want to use?

While it isn't supported, the receiver that comes with your wireless desktop
will *usually* work with mice of the same generation, and those that have
come before it.

Of course, no guarantees, hence why it isn't supported, but I know I've done
the mix and match with all my keyboard/mice sets.
