Missing words in boxes

Dear Newsgroup members:

I am missing the words in the boxes which explain what the
icon does. For example: When you hover over the copy icon
in a program, you will see the word "copy." Can you help
me understand what might be happening? I would like to try
to correct it.

My understanding of Windows is basic at best. But I am
willing to learn.

If i understand you correctly, the Tooltip Box shows up but you dont see
any text in it. Try this, right-click desktop, select properties then
Appearance, under Item, scroll down to "Tooltip" and select, Now
adjust/change Font and Color (Tahoma, 8, Black is default)
