Missing "Unlock Toolbar" Command on Menus...

I have been trying to unlock my Links toolbar, but when I right click
on the menu, I do not have a command that allows me to unlock the
toolbar. All of the commands here are greyed out and unavailable.

Also when I hit VIEW TOOLBARS all of the menus are greyed out and not
available. Also I do not have an "Unlock Toolbars" command on this
menu.

Any ideas how to resolve - am using 6.0.2800 with XP...

Yes - I ran installed and ran Spybot last week on my XP computer. I
also ran Spybot on my '98 computer and did not have any problems with
the toolbar locking commands....

Then I suspect you didn't run Spybot's "Immunize" option on the Win98 box as
you did in WinXP:

boxes were checked. I then uninstalled Spybot - rebooted and checked
the menus - still no luck - the "unlock toolbars" command still does
not show when I right click the grey menu for links, ditto with the
VIEW TOOLBARS menu command - listed emnus are greyed out and thus
unavailable and no Lock toolbar option.

Possible bug in SpyBot or perhaps something else. Suggest you post a report in

If found either delete the entry or change the value.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbars\Restrictions]
"NoToolbarOptions"=dword:00000001

Value Data: (0 = disable restriction, 1 = enable restriction)
Note: always Export before editing.

Did as you suggested and this solved my problem - don't quite know how
these values got changed - anyway I am now back in business - thanks
to all who responded to this thread...
