OK, having read here how to remove unwanted toolbars, I'm back to the basic, standard toolbar I want. I'm still missing the customize button in the drop down. How do I get it back

Thanks,

Toolbars are locked - Unable to customize toolbar and tool band:

[Spyware removers - This part not to be skipped]
Lavasoft Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
SpyBot S&D - http://www.safer-networking.org/
(Spyware removers are rules-based and are updated very frequently as and when new malware is discovered. Therefore, update both of these tools before scanning, very important)

I went to this site and followed the instructions for regedit. I tried changing the values of the 'NOBANDCUSTOMIZE' AND 'NOTOOLBARCUSTOMIZE' keys in both the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer folders to zero. This enabled the toolbar menu items which had been disabled. But 'Customize' still does not appear on the toolbar menu. So I tried deleting the 4 keys...still no 'Customize'. I've already run Spy Sweeper and Ad-Aware 6.0 until I got negative scans

Any further ideas? (BTW - thanks for getting me back the menu items that were disabled

That link brings up 'The page cannot be displayed....' Is the link correct, or is there just limited bandwidth? Should I try again at off hours

It's working. No limited bandwidth. Try this URL:

HOORAY!!!

Both those links fail for me - get me the 'The page cannot be displayed' error.

BUT...when I rebooted and opened IE6 again after making the registry changes you gave me...BINGO!!! 'Customize' is back! You are a MVP indeed. Thanks much.
