Missing Show Desktop Icon

My show desktop icon is gone. I can't find it in windows directory either. I
am not too experienced and might not be looking for the correct wording to
find it in windows. Can anyone help me to restore it. I am usining win xp pro
- version 2002, with service pack 2 - mobile AMD Duron (tm) - 1.40 GHz, 480
MB of Ram. Thanks for any help in advance
