missing restore points

First the history.
Computer wouldn't bootup. User booted from WinXP disk and selected Repair.

Got error message and User can't remenber what she did after that.

Computer now boots but none of Users programs are in evidence (but you
guessed that !!). Luckily most of the programs were installed in drives D,E
and F so data files are still there.

Is there a way that I can use something like Nortons Unerase to bring back a
recent Restore point?

I'm not that familiar with XP. I develope on 98 and deploy to 98,XP and
NT2000 so I am computer literate!!

Hi,

Sounds like she created a new installation. The programs will have to be
(re)installed under it.
