Missing Reinstallation CD

We are unable to locate the XP reinstallation CD or
certificate. Am unable to locate the registration number
in the Help and Support section. The retail store where
computer was purchased is no longer in business.

XP needs to be reinstalled.

Help! Do I need to purchase another XP?

If you have the original product key and you had a valid
copy of windows xp, (not OEM version or recovery disk
type) you should be able to get a replacement CD from
microsoft for a replacement fee. Be forwarned though,
Microsoft will give you the 3rd degree first. Go to their
web site and do a search for replacement disks. If you
only had recovery disks, then you're out of luck. Pluck
$100 out of the cookie jar for another copy. Good luck.
