After careful review of the DMI papers and other
bulletins on this subject, I believe that the latest
"installshield driver" could be our problem. While it may be
on the system, the installshield driver module may not be
referenced properly in the registry, which triggers the
'Application popup" notes in the log, sometimes causing
windows explorer an installer to terminate unexpectedly,
forcing a reboot - or worse- leaving a blank screen. The
designers of the Installshield upgrade and windows installer
upgrade need to take a close look at this, and make
correction as necessary.
