Hi there,
I'm having some trouble booting up my Windows XP Home machine. When i try to
start i receive a message that Windows\system32\hal.dll is missing or corrupt.
I followed the following instructions;
1) Booting the machine into the recovery console
2) Deleted C:\BOOT.INI file
3) Bootcfg /Rebuild
4) Fixboot c:
5) CHKDSK /R
When i exit from the recovery console and boot the machine, everything works
fine. After i try to restart the machine, i got the same message. When i
leave my windows XP CD-Rom into my drive, the systems starts normaly.
I Also tried to reinstall Service Pack 2, but is doesn't give me a solution.
I Also have replaced my boot-drive with a new one and ghosted the original
drive to it.
Can someone please advise me what to do?
thanks,
