missing open windows on taskbar

All of the open programs on my computer no longer show up
on the taskbar. I have checked everything I can think of
to check on this. I can alt-tab between programs, but
they do not show up as minimized windows. Does anyone
know how to fix this?

Hi Lisa,
Please download and apply the following edit:

Programs Aren't Minimized in the Taskbar (Line 240)

After this do NOT log-off or re-boot. Simply right click on the taskbar and
select task manager. Flip to the processes tab and highlight EXPLORER.EXE
and click on end process. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog too. After
this click on File>New Task and type explorer.exe and press enter.
