missing news category

I tried adding the news category to the Go menu, but it ended up on the menu
bar when I released it. I restored the menu bar, but now the news commandis
missing from the lcommands list accessed by
Tools-->customize-->Commmands-->Go (category). I need to be able to access
my news reader.

Perhaps you could include your Outlook version so we can figure out what's
wrong.

I have the same problem. I am using Outlook 2003.

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then click the No
button.

Then you are not following the instructions at all.
You do have Outlook Express. It is part of your operating system.
That is what I told you to select.

Hi Russ,

This post threw me off for minute but I figured it out... It's not Control
Panel... it's Internet Explorer "Tools," "Internet Options," then you select
the "Programs Tab" and change the Newsreader field to Outlook Express. If
there is a way to use "Control Panel" I could'nt figure it out...

I posted the way.
Control Panel > Internet Options... is the exact same dialog you used.
