Problem with Newgroups in Outlook 2003

I turned on the news reader per the help file and added the News command
to the Go menu. Everything seemed to be working fine; I could subscribe
and read news. A few days later I noticed the News command disappeared
from the Go menu in the Mail program but was in the Go menu of the
Calendar program. I would click on the News command and nothing would
happen. When I’d go back into the menu it had now disappeared from the
calendar menu and was now back in the mail menu.

I removed it from the menus by resetting the menus in the customized
dialog box of the standard toolbar. Now when I go into the customized
section to re-add it to the menu, it’s not there. I can’t find it in any
of the menu categories in the customize dialog box.

What do I need to do to correct this?

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then click the No
button.

Click on View > Toolbars > Customize
Click on the "Commands" tab
Under "Categories," click "Go"
Scroll down to see "News"
Click on News and drag it up to your toolbar
