When I had a problem with XP, blue screens of death & then
not booting, I re-installed XP. During the reinstallation a
warning message appears saying that 'you may lose my
documents'! This would appear to have happened. The
original user folder appears in 'c:\documents and
settings\' but it seems to be empty. Now there where some
rather large files in there and the reported size of used
disk space is way in excess of that required for windows XP
alone so these files must be somewhere on the hard drive!
How can I retrieve them?
This did not happen in previous versions of windows, the
'My Documents' folder always remained intact!
