I have a Toshiba laptop wit Widows 98 on it that has not
been used too ofter over the 2 1/2 years I've had it.
Every time I start up, I get an error stating that
mprapi.dll is missing. What can I do about this, where
can I find the file? I'm so computer illiterate, I don't
even kow if I can find my way back here. Please answer to
my email addres, (e-mail address removed). Thanks

1. Pop in your Win2000 CD.
2. Click Start / Run / cmd {OK}
3. Type this: cd /d %SystemRoot%\system32
4. Type this: expand d:\i386\mprapi.dl_ mprapi.dll

The file should now be back where it belongs. If htis sounds
too difficult, ask a friend to do it for you. The question
arises how the file got deleted in the first place . . . Do you
have an up-to-date virus scanner?

By the way, brace yourself for a flood of junk emails.
Spammers routinely "harvest" email addresses from
newsgroups. You unfortunately quoted your correct email
address.

You may wish to ask this question in a Windows 98 group. This one deals
with Windows 2000 operating system.
