Missing minus sign

I have a form in Continuous Form format displaying a list of data in rows
with, in the footer, text boxes with the sums of the numeric fields. I had
trouble with the sum function but Allen Browne straightened me out on that
and it works fine now. I have these Total textboxes with Conditional
Formatting so that negative figures are in red. This works too but I have a
case with one set of data where Two of the the totals âre negative. They
both show in red but one of them does not show the usual preceding minus
sign. I can't see why not. I am not working with ABS anywhere.
If I print the form in B/W the result seems wrong. Anybody any idea ?

Is the width of the textbox sufficient to show the full width of the
number -- that is, could the minus sign be "hidden" under the left boundary
of the textbox?

Thanks Ken. But no. The Box is wide enough to take a much larger number
and the text is right aligned.
I'm baffled

What's the Format property of the field (not the conditional
